10th February 2007 was the first night of Chew Valley Country Music at Greenfield Conservative Club. The first change of venue in over 12 years.
And from the turnout, it seems to have been the right decision.
There were people standing at the bar, and hardly a spare seat.
We were hoping for a full house, and weren’t disappointed.
The bar staff were really friendly, and there was a great atmosphere all night.
Trick Rider played three fantastic sets and got a great reception.
We’ve persuaded Malcolm (who used to run the Double 6 dance club) to come along before the artist starts, to give a short session of Partner dance tuition, which was well received.
Unfortunately, Cowboy Clobber (Malcolm and Pauline) were unable to come, but have promised to be there next month.
Our helpers – Cath and Glenys - were on hand, and Pat made an excellent job of the Beef Butties.
Thanks to all who came, with some from all of the local clubs, and many new faces.
Look on the website (www.chewvalleycountry.co.uk) for the latest pictures (on soon)
Hopefully we can look forward to many more nights like this
