Chew Valley Country Music was formed in 1994 by Keith and Glenys Thompson on behalf of Boarshurst Band Club, in whose building the Country Nights take place, and it has been running monthly on a Saturday since then.
Keith relinquished the organising of Chew Valley on its 10th Anniversary, handing over to Judy, with the assistance of Trevor.
Then in March 2006, Judy decided she did not want to be involved in the running anymore, and Trevor and his wife Lynne took over completely, and are continuing to run the Country Music nights, with the full support of the Band Club.
The 12th anniversary of the Club was held on November 11th 2006
Through 2006 various problems reared their heads, and the situations did not improve, so after asking the regulars their thoughts, new premises were found just a short walk from Boarshurst . and the last night at that venue was on 13th January 2007.
Chew Valley held it's first night at Greenfield Conservative Club on 10th March 2007, with Trick Rider.
The night was a resounding success, with the biggest audience for many many months.
Hopefully this has been a turning point for Chew Valley, and we can look forward to a successful future.
