On the11th November Chew Valley Country Music clebrated its 12th Anniversary.
The Band for the night was SETTLERS CREEK, a fabulous 5-piece Country Band from Blackpool. Their website is: www.settlerscreek.co.uk
The profit from the night was £332, which was given to Saddleworth Special Needs Playgroup, who are based in Springhead, near Oldham. A big thank you must go to all who helped, donated and supported the night.
The playgroup started in 1968. It is a registered charity and is funded by donations and other fundraising activities such as ours. The playgroup has 4 paid staff, supported by a dedicated band of volunteers, and caters for approximately 12 children between the ages of 3 and 5 years old, who have varying needs, including learning difficulties, disabilities, hearing and vision impairment. They also obtain assistance from other professionals (Physiotherapists, etc.) and provide support not only to the children, but their parents and families.
Settlers Creek were fantastic on the night, and really got into the spirit of the night, even in the band breaks.
They played 3 marvellous sets of modern Country music, which was well appreciated by all in the audience. They certainly are a band not to be missed.
On Saturday 9th December, our Christmas show, we were entertained by DOUBLE BARREL - a great duo from Derby.
They went down really well, and were enjoyed by an appreciative audience.
Nice to see so many new faces, including Malcolm and some of the patrons of Double Six Dance Club in Denton.
